I realize as do many of us that I am most joyful, optimistic and grounded,  when I am truly present- whether it  is connecting  with another person or playing or focusing on work.  I am caught up in the pragmatic everyday grind (how does one escape it?) as the bills have to get paid (as modest as I try to keep them) and the rest of the STUFF we do,…: make coffee, cook, eat, do laundry, do dishes, buy food, write bills, meet someone and have a relationship, break up, get over the breakup, meet someone and have sex, read so I don't watch tv, get inspired and create, visit family, visit friends, buy gifts, mow, vacuum, do more laundry, ride my bike- when do we all get together and save the world - because as a child I always thought I would but things got complicated- I think its going to have to be a group project.  if its about being the positive change in our own corners of the world, I would like to try harder in mine…
By trade I am a lawyer advising the court in child protective cases- As discouraging as it is that there will be enough work for awhile, I try to see each day as an opportunity to do something good, to effectuate positive change.. and that's not as noble as it sounds because really sometimes its just paper pushing.. reform is necessary and that is a good place to start …
